Support and Celebrate Older Adults in the LGBTQIA+ Community this Pride Month

Pride month is a time to celebrate and show extra support to the wonderfully wide spectrum of gender and sexuality in our community. Marching in a parade or engaging in a protest are an integral part of Pride month but may not be accessible to everyone. Here are a few other things you can do this month to support the LGBTQIA+ community:
- Learn about the history of Pride and the 1969 Stonewall Riots.
- Educate yourself on inclusive language.
- Call upon your elected officials to protect and uplift LGBTQ+ folks.
Here at Sound Generations, our employees will be celebrating with our ‘Show Your Pride’ event. This event is meant to foster belonging, engagement, and celebrate LGBTQIA+ Pride and allows departments or individuals to creatively express their pride.
We will also be partnering with GenPride to host a Pride Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, June 28th. We hope you can join us from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM at GenPride and then enjoy the festivities of Pridefest on Capitol Hill.
Help support our mission to empower LGBTQIA+ older adults.
