Summary: We are actively seeking volunteers to help prepare and serve nutritious weekday lunches to low-income older adults across King County, alongside our skilled chefs.
Description: Join our Community Dining Team! Volunteers join together with our professional chefs to serve nutritious weekday lunches to low-income older adults across King County. We strive to enrich the lives of aging adults in our community through providing reliable access to affordable food and to a welcoming community atmosphere.
We are actively seeking individuals to serve with our program who believe in our mission: providing a safe place for aging adults to come eat nutritious food and build relationships.
Tasks may include: Preparing food alongside a skilled chef, serving food and beverage, greeting and socializing with guests, collecting meal donations, preparing coffee and tea, washing dishes, general cleaning.
Requirements: Food handler’s permit (w/in 14 days), WA state background check, cooking experience helpful but not required. Prolonged standing and minor lifting (under 50 pounds) required for some tasks, ample accommodations available upon request!
Lunch is served at noon, Monday through Friday. The length of your shift can be flexible, volunteers are at the center M-F starting as early at 9 am and ending as late at 2 pm. We ask our volunteers to commit to at least one day per week.
