Sound Generations is grateful for the 1,000+ star volunteers who have contributed both time and service to further our mission of providing a better quality of life to King County’s aging community. Without volunteer support, we would not be able to provide low-cost and free services to those who need us most.

Our volunteers assist at senior centers, help with meal deliveries, and support older adults through meals, activities and events in the Greater Seattle area and through King County. Diverse in age, background, skills, & interests, our volunteers share an intergenerational desire to engage with the community & staff, support operations, and address the most urgent needs of aging adults with a smile!

How Volunteering to Help Older Adults Benefits the Community

Helping older adults through volunteering is one of the simplest ways to make a big impact. By lending a hand at a senior center, delivering much-needed meals, or just being there to listen, you provide moments of kindness that bring people of all ages together.

Examples of Volunteer Roles

Senior Center Assistance – Help with community dining meal service, activities and operations
Meals on Wheels – Make weekly phone calls, pack orders, deliver meals to seniors, and coordinate program activities at a site in King County
Transportation Support – Drive seniors to important medical appointments or to places of recreation/interest
Education and outreach – Support 501c3 nonprofit organizations with administrative tasks, advocacy, and program coordination.
