Social Media Ambassador
Are you savvy with social media and have a following of 200 or more? Are you passionate about supporting aging adults? Then we want to hear from you. Sound Generations supports people on their aging journey through community connections and accessible services. COVID-19 has merely highlighted the challenges older adults face EVERYDAY! Help spread the word about the importance of what we’ve been doing for aging adults for the past 50 years. With your advocacy, we can continue to support the basic needs of our aging neighbors now and in the future!
Program: Marketing and Philanthropy
Schedule: One-time/ Ongoing/ Flexible
Duration: 1-2 hours a week (this can be the minimum knowing they can always do more)
Group or Individual: Individuals
Kid Friendly: Yes (with parent permission and supervision)
Summary: We are actively seeking volunteers to assist us in bringing awareness to the needs of aging adults in King County during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Full Description: Outreach with us! We are looking for individuals who are no strangers to social media. Time has shown that the friends and followers of people who share news and information about a cause they believe are more likely to show support and donate alongside their friends. Looking for 4-10 individuals who are open to posting on social media to share how they can support Sound Generations and our programs during the COVID-19 crisis.
Requirements: Should be personable and comfortable with sharing information on personal social media sites regarding the needs of the aging community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Program: Volunteer Transportation

Summary: Change lives by giving rides! Drive seniors to and from their important medical appointments.
Description: Help older adults throughout King County get to their important and life-sustaining medical appointments. Using your own vehicle, you would drive seniors to their appointments, wait for them, and return them home, providing friendly companionship for the round trip. This flexible opportunity allows you to choose which days, times, frequency, and areas you wish to serve. You may also change your availability weekly. Our program staff will happily work to accommodate your schedule. Take a turn in the right direction, become a volunteer driver today!
Requirements: Volunteers must have a valid Washington State driver’s license and auto insurance, a reliable vehicle, no moving violations in the past two years, ability to pass a criminal background check, and some weekday availability.
