Join our Volunteer team to help Meals on Wheels in King County fight hunger! As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service.

Coordinator: As the Volunteer Coordinator you will be working with a wonderful volunteer team, coordinating schedules, helping delivery drivers head out with the correct bags, and assisting with various office tasks that keep Meals on Wheels humming along. You would be needed Thursdays, 8am – 11am, at the MOW office located at the Federal Way Community Center. Other coordinator activities can be done remotely. The time commitment averages 3 – 5 hours a week. We are looking for someone that is available long term.

Backup Driver: A volunteer is needed to deliver meals in Federal Way on Thursday mornings, as needed when one of the weekly drivers is away. Drivers pick up meals between 8:00AM – 9:00AM and are typically done with their route in 1 – 1.5 hours. Training is provided and mileage is reimbursable. We are looking for someone that is available long term.

Qualities sought in Meals on Wheels volunteers: Commitment to the well-being of elders, good communication and people skills, reliability, and good cheer.

Requirements: Complete the Meals on Wheels Volunteer Application, consent to a Washington State Patrol background check, the ability to lift 15 pounds, and be age 21 or more. A WA state driver’s license and insurance is required to be a volunteer driver.
