In the past twenty years, Sound Generations has celebrated the stories of over 550 older adults in Western Washington at the annual Inspire Positive Aging Awards.
Last year, the number of nominations grew dramatically, increasing to a record 63 nominations (previous years recorded an average of 25-30). All nominees were celebrated at a community luncheon featuring a full house of nominees, their guests, and a host of community partners and organizations.
This year, the event is expected to be even larger. And we want to make sure your inspiring loved ones are a part of it.
Inspiration Blooms in King County
The story of a lotus flower is one that resonates with our community. Lotuses sit underground for years putting down roots before sprouting up.
Just like the lotus, the wisdom and lived experience of older adults have formed deep roots over time before rising into full bloom, revealing stories shaped by resilience, memory, and meaning.
Through simple actions or lifelong commitment, older adults make our world a better place. In the past, we’ve seen nominees from all walks of life, including nonprofit founders, senior center kitchen volunteers, social service workers, mothers and fathers, and more.
