Food Security
Sound Generations provides food security to thousands of individuals throughout King County. We fight hunger by providing nutritious and convenient meals for older adults—typically age 60 and older—who qualify under program service guidelines. In addition to providing reliable food security, our people connect clients to community resources and social support networks, so they may live ample and fulfilled lives.
Community Dining
Community Dining is a network of different locations throughout King County, where older adults can enjoy a hot lunch with others. Many locations provide lunch five days a week and give participants the opportunity to engage with their local community. Meals are donation-based and prepared from scratch. We encourage a donation of $3 to $5 for older adults over 60, and guests under 60 are asked to make a $10 contribution.
Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels delivers nourishing meals and a friendly connection to older adults throughout King County who are homebound and face barriers to accessing or preparing food. Eligible program participants can choose from a wide variety of menu options designed to support balanced nutrition and meet individual preferences. Each delivery offers the consistency and support that help participants continue living independently at home.
Meals on Wheels Mobile Market
Our Mobile Market provides Meals on Wheels participants with convenient access to a variety of grocery items, including fresh produce, canned goods, hygiene products, and more. This service is available to participants living within Seattle city limits. Mobile Market items are competitively priced and paid for at the time of order, with no delivery fee.
Additionally, Meals on Wheels participants in King County can purchase liquid nutritional supplements, such as Ensure and Glucerna, through the Mobile Market.
