There are many circumstances that can make shopping or preparing food difficult for older adults. That’s where Meals on Wheels comes in. Sound Generations’ Meals on Wheels program provides well-balanced, nutritious, ready-to-eat meals each week, offering essential support to older adults and their caregivers. With home delivery and specialized options like vegetarian and kosher meals, our program provides seniors with a reliable, convenient way to maintain their independence and enjoy a healthy diet.

Who qualifies for Meals on Wheels?
Our Meals on Wheels program serves King County, WA residents age 60 and older who need support accessing nutritious meals at home. Participants are typically homebound or have difficulty leaving home, shopping for groceries, or preparing meals, and may not have consistent support from family or caregivers. Some adults under age 60 may also qualify if they are enrolled in programs such as COPES or PACE-Providence. If you live outside of King County, find a Meals on Wheels program near you.
How many meals can I order?
Participants may order one meal for each day in the month. A suggested donation of $6.50 per meal helps support the program, but no one is turned away due to an inability to contribute. Cases of liquid supplements, like Ensure and Glucerna, are available for purchase.
When can I expect meal delivery?
Eligible participants in King County can expect their meals to be delivered weekly or twice per month by a dedicated Meals on Wheels volunteer or staff delivery driver.
Are the meals prepared and ready to eat?
Yes, the meals arrive conveniently frozen and packaged in trays to be heated in a microwave or conventional oven.

How to Apply
For Meals on Wheels delivery in Seattle and greater King County, applicants can choose to submit an application online or complete a print-out version and mail it in to our office. Please submit one application per person.
