Summary: Be a part of the largest celebration of positive aging! We are actively seeking volunteers to assist us at our 17th Annual Inspire Positive Aging Awards Luncheon celebration. IPAA is a special event to highlight and honor the contributions of exemplary older adults throughout King County who have been nominated by their peers, family, colleagues, and community.

Full Description: Join our special events volunteer team! Greeters will welcome guests, direct them to registration, and assist with line/traffic control at registration and various entrances. You are the first point of contact for our guests and maybe asked a variety of questions like, “Where is the nearest restroom?”  

Requirements: Should be personable and comfortable with standing for prolonged periods of time (avg of 60 min.) The dress code is business casual.

Inspire Positive Aging Awards: Help Create Magic as a Set-Up Volunteer!

Summary: Be a part of the largest celebration of positive aging! We are actively seeking volunteers to assist us at our 17th Annual Inspire Positive Aging Awards Luncheon celebration. IPAA is a special event to highlight and honor the contributions of exemplary older adults throughout King County who have been nominated by their peers, family, colleagues, and community.

Full Description: Join our Event Volunteer Team!  The set-up crew will assist the Resource Development Department in transforming the ballroom and registration area into a celebratory space.  This entails ensuring the ballroom tables are properly dressed in centerpieces, table tents, programs, and favors.  In addition, you will assist with setting up the photo booth, raffle tickets, and nomination lane areas. Lastly, you will help ensure all event and directional signage are in place prior to the start of the event. 

Requirements: Should be able to lift and carry 5-15lbs., comfortable with multi-tasking, and moving in many different directions. The dress code is casual. If you plan to stay for the luncheon, please bring a change of clothes or dress in business casual attire.

Full Description: Join our Event Volunteer Team! The tear-down crew will assist the staff with making sure everything is packed up and accounted for. This includes retrieving signage, packing up centerpieces, nametag holders, nomination lane, the photo booth, registration, and raffle station. 

Requirements: Need to be comfortable working with others you may not know. Need to be able to lift 10-50lbs. Having prior packing and boxing skills is preferred. The dress code is business casual.

Full Description: Join our Event Volunteer Team! Raffle Ticket sellers will mingle with guests during the registration and networking hour to encourage patrons to buy raffle tickets. Ticket sales will resume during the intermission at the kiosk area of the registration lobby.  

Requirements: Should be personable and comfortable with walking and standing for prolonged periods of time (30-60 min.) Need to be enthusiastic and open to walking around and conversing with guests to garner ticket sales. The dress code is business casual.

Full Description: Join our Event Volunteer Team! Accessibility assistants will escort guests to seats when needed and/or guide them to the bathroom. Additionally, aiding present nominees during the program who need assistance getting to the stage for the group photo. You will be their extra set of hands and/or eyes as needed.  

Requirements: Should be personable and comfortable with direct interaction with guests who may have physical limitations and/or challenges. (avg of 60 min.) Dress code is business casual.

Ambassador Volunteer Opportunity

Social Media Ambassador

Are you savvy with social media and have a following of 200 or more? Are you passionate about supporting aging adults? Then we want to hear from you. Sound Generations supports people on their aging journey through community connections and accessible services. COVID-19 has merely highlighted the challenges older adults face EVERYDAY!  Help spread the word about the importance of what we’ve been doing for aging adults for the past 50 years.  With your advocacy, we can continue to support the basic needs of our aging neighbors now and in the future!

 

Position: Ambassador

Location: Virtual

Schedule: One-time/ Ongoing/ Flexible

Duration: 1-2 hours a week (this can be the minimum knowing they can always do more)

Summary: We are actively seeking volunteers to assist us in bringing awareness to the needs of aging adults in King County during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Full Description: Outreach with us!  We are looking for individuals who are no strangers to social media.  Time has shown that the friends and followers of people who share news and information about a cause they believe are more likely to show support and donate alongside their friends. Looking for 4-10 individuals who are open to posting on social media to share how they can support Sound Generations and our programs during the COVID-19 crisis.

Requirements: Should be personable and comfortable with sharing information on personal social media sites regarding the needs of the aging community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
